Strollers
There are lots of choices in strollers. A stroller is a large item (usually), can be expensive, and not only needs to keep baby safe, but needs to be folded, unfolded, lifted, pushed, pulled, and stored by a parent many times a day.
There are many types of strollers available:
Standard
Jogging
Umbrella
Travel Systems
and more
Each type has many advantages and disadvantages which I will try to describe here.
Standard
A standard stroller typically has 4 (or 8) wheels, a seat for baby, and a storage area. Many of these strollers are not suitable for infants because they do not fully recline.
Jogging
Jogging strollers typically have 3 large wheels similar to bicycle tires, a seat for baby, and a storage area. As the name suggests, this type of stroller is meant to be used while jogging or walking as exercise.
Umbrella
Umbrella strollers typically have 4 (or 8) wheels and a seat for baby. This type of stroller is usually lightweight and often does not include a storage area.
Travel Systems
Travel systems include a standard stroller plus a carseat. The carseat is detachable for easy transport of baby from car to stroller and back again.
Others
There are many types of specialty strollers to fit just about everyone’s lifestyle. Nearly every category of stroller includes a double stroller to handle twins or any two small children.
